My favorite genre of music consists of classic rock, punk
rock, alternative, indie, and perhaps I like a little techno hehe. But having a
younger sister whom just started to get into the world of K-Pop, I am beginning
to have several senses about getting back into this funk. Let me just say that
once you start listening to any K-pop song; odds are that their catchiness will
just get right at you and stopping to the beat is not an option. I could be
inclined to say this because that was just how Epik High approached me for the
first time.
The very first moments I got into K-Pop were the beginning
of 8th grade, and this was because many students were taking over
this genre as one of the music trends at our middle school. I was not the type
of student that follows every fad one after the other because eventually fads
die out, and well… if you are in elementary/middle school and you still follow
a certain trend once it dies out---consider yourself hiding under a rock for
some time since you will be ridiculed by your peers. I told myself I would not
get into K-pop because everyone was listening to it. Keep in mind that our
middle school shared the population within a lot of Asians---yay for an Asian
community. Well, I remembered that Korean guys were really attractive and
having said being was one of the reasons why I was lured into this ‘K-Pop
phase.’ Last Farewell, Fly, Love (x3), Umbrella, and Lies were frequently
exaggerated that I’m just like:
