K-Pop?

My favorite genre of music consists of classic rock, punk rock, alternative, indie, and perhaps I like a little techno hehe. But having a younger sister whom just started to get into the world of K-Pop, I am beginning to have several senses about getting back into this funk. Let me just say that once you start listening to any K-pop song; odds are that their catchiness will just get right at you and stopping to the beat is not an option. I could be inclined to say this because that was just how Epik High approached me for the first time.

The very first moments I got into K-Pop were the beginning of 8th grade, and this was because many students were taking over this genre as one of the music trends at our middle school. I was not the type of student that follows every fad one after the other because eventually fads die out, and well… if you are in elementary/middle school and you still follow a certain trend once it dies out---consider yourself hiding under a rock for some time since you will be ridiculed by your peers. I told myself I would not get into K-pop because everyone was listening to it. Keep in mind that our middle school shared the population within a lot of Asians---yay for an Asian community. Well, I remembered that Korean guys were really attractive and having said being was one of the reasons why I was lured into this ‘K-Pop phase.’ Last Farewell, Fly, Love (x3), Umbrella, and Lies were frequently exaggerated that I’m just like:

My tender eardrums instantaneously loved every little beat of Korean music. It was so catchy that my love for Korean drama grew as well. K-Pop became my earcandy since then. Fast forward today, I stopped listening to K-Pop prior to beginning my junior year of high school because I just keep up with the fad because there were K-pop bands that are scattering out to better things in life and some were just amateurs---beginning to set a new music life. I guess you could say that ever since I picked up a guitar elective course, I began to change my perspective towards music---which happens to be the music I listen to today. I still like watching some good Korean drama, but it was not like an unhealthy obsession back then. Enough me rambling! I have heard new songs from EXO and Shinee through my sister; this led me thinking if I should give K-pop a second go? Who knows? We shall see and maybe I would update you guys about it when I get the chance between my hectic college life.
